Driver CPC: don't miss the bus
|
|
You have just 7 Months left to complete the 35 hours of periodic
training to keep your Driver CPC if you're a bus or coach driver and got your
vocational licence before
10 September 2008. |
Since
Driver CPC was introduced, over half a million professional drivers across
the goods and passenger sectors have taken accredited periodic training. This
is to further develop their knowledge and skills and help make sure they
remain safe and responsible drivers throughout their career.
Periodic training courses
There
are now over 3,000 approved training courses available to drivers. They cover
a range of topics from fuel efficiency to tachograph and drivers' hours
regulations or defensive driving.
All
courses and providers have to meet strict criteria. They are both
quality-checked on an ongoing basis, to make sure they meet the required
standard.
Don't leave it until the last minute
Sep
12: From The DSA chief executive,
Rosemary Thew,
"I would urge all drivers who haven't yet started
periodic training not to leave it until the last minute. If the deadline
arrives and you drive professionally without a Driver CPC, you'll be
committing an offence.
"If you're an operator and you cause or allow your
drivers to drive without Driver CPC - you'll also be committing an offence.
"The idea of drivers completing regular training
throughout their working life is not new - many have been doing it for years
through operators who recognise the benefits of
drivers developing their skills; helping to boost productivity as well as
improve road safety."

The venue for the above will be the
Second Club in Trench, Telford. This is
situated on the upper floor above the Sun Salon on the Trench road and entry is
via the door down the side of the sun salon and just before the barbers
shop. On arrival you will need to ring
the bell/intercom and you will be let in.
Tea & Coffee facilities are
available for a small charge.
Fees:
As this is a full 7 hour module, the fee for attending this is £65.00
and this includes the DSA/JAUPT ‘upload’ fee.
This can be paid on the day in cash or cheque only (Sorry, we do not have
a facility for credit card payment).
Attendance / Registration:
Those wishing to register to attend should contact me via email: info@avtme.co.uk
I will also need a copy of your drivers licence (Both parts) in order
that I can ‘upload’ you details to DSA/JAUPT.
If you could scan this in & e-mail that it would be helpful.
